Cannabis Coin is available to be purchased and traded on T7X. The exchange has been established to list and trade only tokens that have an intrinsic value and are backed by real assets. In addition, the exchange will be the mechanism for delivery of dividends to the holders of these tokens.

Properties backing the Cannabis Coin.

The Token will be the property owner, and lease the property to companies that are licensed and have a history of operations in the cannabis market. The Token will never touch the leaf and is just a land owner. Since Canada has created a legal structure for the whole country to legalize the manufacturing of cannabis, the token will start owning properties in Canada. On a case-by-case basis, the Token may own real estate in the US where the tenant is fully licensed in the activity they are involved in on a state level.

On cannabis companies.

Specifically in the US, cannabis companies have difficulty in purchasing properties and even securing long term leases simply due to the uncertainty of the US regulatory framework. Although cannabis is now legal for medicinal or recreational use in 39 States, under Federal law, it is considered a Schedule 1 drug – a drug with no current medical use with high potential for abuse and/or addiction. Because of this and the fact that most US banks are Federally chartered, obtaining banking services including mortgages to purchase property has been very difficult and complicated for cannabis companies. Even obtaining long term leases from property owners has been difficult as many landlords are afraid of defaulting on covenants within their own mortgages.
